Billing Guides

This document explains the differences between the Release 3.5.x and 4.5 Billing Guides.

Feature History

Release
Modification

October 2006

The following updates were made in Appendix A of this document:

Call data block fields 150 and 151 were corrected (reference for this change is CSCsf19345.)

Call data block field 166 was changed.

October 2005

This document was introduced.

Overview

This document lists the differences between the call detail blocks (CDBs) in Releases 3.5.x and 4.5. The information that changed was documented in Appendix A: Call Detail Block File Fields chapter of the Billing Guide.

Changes Between Versions

The following changes were made to the Release 3.5.x and 4.5 billing guides.

The Overview Section

The overview section was updated in the 4.5 guide. More information about raw call detail blocks (CDBs) was added to the chapter.

Additionally, a note was added with steps to flush old billing records from the Element Management System (EMS) on the Cisco BTS 10200 Softswitch.

Changes to Table A-1, Call Detail Block Field Descriptions

The following general changes were made to Appendix A in the Release 4.5 billing guide. This information is not available in the Release 3.5.x billing guide.

1. The Field Number column was added to the table. This column lists the field number for each CDB.

2. The Data Source field was added to the table. This column lists the Data Source information for each CDB.

3. All of the Field Descriptions were updated in Release 4.5. Most have new information listed, and the changes may be extensive. For that reason, the updates for each individual field are not listed in this document.

4. The following statement regarding timestamps was changed throughout the document. The statement is found in either the Potential Values or Field Descriptions columns. In Release 3.5.x, the sentence reads:

A value of zero indicates the field is to be ignored.

In Release 4.5, the sentence was changed to:

If the value is NULL, the timestamp is to be ignored.

5. Fields 142-170 are new to Release 4.5. These fields were not available in Release 3.5.x.

The remaining changes are noted for each field in the table. Table 0-1 is based on information for Release 4.5. Any changes from Release 3.5.x are noted in the table; if there are no changes noted, then the information is relevant for Release 4.5.

The descriptions were updated in Release 4.5. Because the updates are extensive, the updated information in not listed in this document; to find the differences between individual field descriptions, refer to the 3.5 or 4.5 Appendix A.
