Cisco Ethernet Subscriber Solution Engine (ESSE) is a hardware-based management system for metro access networks that deliver optical Ethernet to the customer. ESSE enables service providers to centrally monitor, configure, and troubleshoot remote deployments of Cisco ONT 1000 Gigabit Ethernet Series Optical Network Terminator. Remote management reduces operating expenses and increases profitability by eliminating unnecessary visits to the customer premises.
