Q. What does my SPA adapter's LED indicator blinking pattern mean?
A.Here is what the SPA2100's blinking patterns mean:
Slow Blinking (0.5s ON, 0.5s OFF continuous)
- System Initialization; only happens when the SPA boots-up, the time could be as long as 10 seconds (hardware reboot) to two seconds (warm reboot).
- Firmware downloading.

Looking for DHCP.
Fast Blinking (0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF continuous)
- Writing firmware to flash.
Heartbeat 2 - short, short, short, off for 1.2 seconds (0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF, 0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF, 0.1s ON, 1.2s OFF continuous)
- Firmware load.
Link Error - long, short, short, off for two seconds (0.5s ON, 0.3s OFF, 0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF, 0.1s ON, 2s OFF continuous)
- No Ethernet link detected.
Error 1 - short, short, long, off for two seconds (0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF, 0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF, 0.5s ON, 2s OFF continuous)

Device is using backup IP or the last known good IP. This feature is only in v2.0 and other succeeding versions.
Error 2 - short, short, long, long, off for two seconds (0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF, 0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF, 0.5s ON, 0.2s OFF, 0.5s ON, 2s OFF continuous)

A duplicate IP is detected.
SOS - short, short, short, long, long, short, short, short, off for two seconds (0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF, 0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF, 0.1s ON, 0.3s OFF, 0.3s ON, 0.3s OFF, 0.3s ON, 0.3s OFF, 0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF, 0.1s ON, 0.1s OFF, 0.1sON, 2s OFF continuous)
- Firmware is in recovery mode.
