MRP200, ASI81, and ASI160Introduction
Cisco Systems announces the end-of-sale of the Multi-service Route Processor (MRP) 200, the Analog Station Interface Card (ASI) 81, and the ASI160 cards. Each card is a multi-service router card available on the Cisco ICS 7750 (Integrated Communications System). These cards will be replaced by new MRP cards that deliver flash memory on board, faster boot times, and improved fault tolerance. The following plan outlines the process for the MRP200, ASI81, and ASI160 end-of-sale.

The ASI81 and the ASI160 have new names. The new names for the latest release of the ASI cards are MRP3-8FXS and MRP3-16FXS, respectively.

EOS Audience
This MRP200/ASI EOS announcement is for all Cisco customers, channel partners, and field sales offices using the Cisco ICS 7750. In general, there are three types of customer profiles using the Cisco ICS 7750:

Customers using a Cisco ICS 7750 in production environments
•
Cisco channel partners using a Cisco ICS 7750 for demonstration or evaluation purposes
•
Cisco field sales using the Cisco ICS 7750 in a lab environment
MRP200/ASI Migration Program
A migration program is available for customers that wish to trade in their old MRP/ASI card for a new MRP card. The program is using the Cisco Technology Migration Program (CTMP). The program extends a credit toward the purchase of a new MRP when the customer turns in the old MRP. Customers use the CTMP calculator to take advantage of the program. The website is:

End-of-Orderability
Orderability for the non-spare MRP200, ASI81, and ASI160 was turned off August 6, 2002. Customers may purchase spare MRP200, ASI81, or ASI160 through November 27, 2002. Orderability will be turned off for spare versions of these cards after November 27, 2002.
Product Replacement Information
End-of-Support
Software end-of-support with bug fixes for the MRP200, ASI81, and ASI160 will be November 27, 2003, or one year after the end-of-sale date.
Software end-of-support from TAC support (without bug fixes) for the MRP200, ASI81, and ASI160 wil be November 27, 2005, or three years after the end-of-sale date.
Hardware end-of-support for the MRP200, ASI81, ASI160 will be November 27, 2007—five years after the end-of-sale. Product obsolescence also refers to the last day that the Cisco TAC is obligated to take calls and assist customers with issues concerning the MRP200, ASI81 and ASI160 products. These products will be considered obsolete on November 28, 2007.
