End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco IAD2420 Series
Cisco Systems announces the end of life of the Cisco® IAD2420 integrated access devices. Please refer to Table 1 for product ID and description of the products which are being announced for End of Sale.

The last day to order the Cisco IAD2420 series products is July 12, 2004. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until July 12, 2009 for Hardware. Table 2 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco IAD2420 Series products
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco IAD2430 series products, the next generation IADs. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco IAD2420 series products to the Cisco IAD2430 series products or Cisco 3700 Series products.

Product Migration Options
The recommended replacement for the Cisco IAD2420 Series is mainly the Cisco IAD2430 Series. Exact SKU replacement options are shown in Table 4. The Cisco IAD2430 series offers next generation hardware architecture and is a further evolution of the product specifically designed for use as a managed CPE to offer VoIP services in a Service Provider environment. Hardware feature highlights of the new IAD2430 series include:
- Increased analog port density of 24 ports
- Integrated on-board T1s (with CSU/DSUs)
- Single VWIC for flexibility: FXO for backup, BRI for data backup, xDSL for emerging markets
- DC Battery Backup Input
With the exception of the IAD2420 series platforms with 16FXS and 8FXO combinations, all IAD2420 series are recommended to migrate to the IAD2430 series. For exact platform ID replacement options, please refer to Table 5.
