End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement
for the Cisco Access Gateway VG200 (CAG-VG200) platformCisco Systems, Inc. announces the end of life of the Cisco CAG-VG200. The last day to order the Cisco CAG-VG200 is June 26, 2003. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until June 26, 2008 for Hardware/OS and June 26, 2006 for Software. Table 1 describes in greater detail the end-of-life milestones, including definitions, for the Cisco CAG-VG200.
When Cisco started the pioneering development for IP Telephony networks, the VG200 was designed as a stand-alone platform targeting IP telephony specific functionality. With the success of AVVID, the VG200 functionality has become mainstream, with platforms like 1700/2600/3600/3700/AGM delivering compatible feature sets. The broad support of the IP Telephony features has reduced the need for specialized platforms like the VG200. In addition, due to the recent End of Sale (EoS) announcement of the Cisco2620 (non-XM) series router on which the VG200 is based, we are announcing the End of Sale of the VG200.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco 2600XM or the Cisco 1760-V. These existing Cisco products offer the current functionality of the VG200 plus greater performance, densities, flexibilities and features. Information about these products can be found at:

Product Migration Options
Migration alternatives for the Cisco CAG-VG200 are:
•
The Cisco 2600XM series supports analog, digital voice GW, Transcoding and Conferencing (DSP Farm) functionality. The 2600XM platforms are ideally suited for mid to high density analog connectivity, up to 2 T1/E1s of digital voice, and DSP Farm capability. For up to 1 T1/E1 digital voice the 2651XM-V bundle is an attractive option.
•
The 1760-V supports analog and digital voice GW functionality. The 1760-V is a good alternative for up to 12 analog ports, and low density (12 channels) digital voice connectivity.
The Cisco 2600XM, and Cisco1760-V platform pricing includes all IP PLUS features with full routing and WAN support. VG200 is a standalone GW, and does not deliver routing, or WAN support.
With 12.2(13)T, the VG200 functionality is supported across a broad range of platforms. Customers may also choose an integrated solution for analog, digital connectivity, conferencing and transcoding functions with the Cisco 3700, Catalyst 4000, or Catalyst 6000 platforms.
