Overview
New Features
• Serial tunneling
Some third-party systems, such as automobile counting devices, use serial interfaces and proprietary protocols to transmit and receive information. Serial tunneling allows these types of devices to communicate with each other transparently through the network without requiring Stream Manager to understand the protocols.
• Fixed connections
Cisco Video Surveillance Stream Manager is capable of displaying various cameras on various monitors and on the Stream Manager Client. In some installations, it is desired to permanently assign a particular camera to a particular monitor. The fixed connections feature allows this capability and prevents inadvertent configuration changes.
• E-mail notifications
Cisco Video Surveillance Stream Manager Monitor is used to provide status of the health of the video surveillance system. Rather than requiring an operator to constantly view Stream Manager Monitor to check for alerts, e-mail notifications can be sent for various events.
• Panasonic NS-202 IP PTZ Camera support
Cisco Video Surveillance Stream Manager supports multiple third-party cameras, keyboards, and matrix switches. Support for the Panasonic NS-202 IP PTZ Camera has been added.
• Bosch Daisy Chain PTZ support
Some installations with PTZ cameras "daisy chain" the serial ports, requiring a single serial interface to support multiple dome addresses. Daisy Chain PTZ support for Bosch systems has been added for RS-485 serial ports and also in conjunction with the Bosch LTC 8780 serial concentrator.
• User access rights editing enhancements
Cisco Video Surveillance Stream Manager supports per-user access rights. Editing enhancements, such as copying a user profile, have been added.
• Database cleanup
Cisco Video Surveillance Stream Manager also supports per-user access rights for viewing and selecting cameras and monitors. The database cleanup feature allows cameras and monitors to be deleted from the system and removed from the access rights database.
