Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco® EGW 2200 Enterprise Gateway. The last day to order the affected product is August 8, 2006. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until August 7, 2011. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
The Cisco EGW 2200 Enterprise Gateway is used to interconnect Cisco CallManager to older private branch exchanges (PBXs) using the Digital Private Network Signaling System (DPNSS) protocol. The recommended replacement for the Cisco EGW 2200 Enterprise Gateway is the Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch. Refer to the section "Product Migration Options" for more information.
