The Cisco® Redus MKII Source selector is an intelligent ASI switch used in applications where one-to-one redundancy is required. It can be used as a standalone redundancy switch for Cisco professional video technology or for third-party equipment.
Several detection criteria can be selected and, with a special connector card, the Cisco Redus MKII will also function as a small distribution amplifier (with four outputs).
The Cisco Redus MKII Source Selector (Figure 1) fits in the Cisco Galaxy Chassis and is equipped with a management interface for remote control through Cisco ROSA® Network Management System (NMS) or a third-party management system using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). The liquid crystal display (LCD) front panel allows full local control of the unit.
