Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco Catalyst 4912G, 2948G, and 2980G-A Switches. The last day to order the affected product is November 3, 2004. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 in EoL product bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Catalyst 4912G, 2948G, and 2980G-A Switches. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
As a replacement for defective unit, Cisco may replace with either 2 Catalyst 2948G (Cat OS) switches or 2 Catalyst 2960 (IOS) switches.
Customers are encouraged to migrate from Catalyst 4912G to Catalyst 3750G-12S.
Customers are encouraged to migrate from Catalyst 2948G to Catalyst 2960G or Catalyst 3560G.
Customers are encouraged to migrate from Catalyst 2980G-A to one of the following options:
1. WS-C4503 configured with any line card and supervisor engine
2. 2 Catalyst 2960s
3. Stack of Catalyst 3750, or stack of Catalyst 3560.
Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Plan (TMP) to trade in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, go to: http://www.cisco.com/go/tradein/. The Cisco TMP application requires all users to have a Cisco.com user ID.
Customers may be able to continue to purchase the end-of-sale product through Cisco™'Authorized Refurbished Equipment program.
