The Cisco® ONS 15310-MA Multiservice Provisioning Platform (MSPP) is a carrier-class MSPP that efficiently switches Ethernet and time-division multiplexing (TDM) traffic for use in metropolitan and regional optical networks. Fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) applications represent an increasingly important opportunity for metropolitan service providers to extend their networks, reach new customers, and profitably grow their businesses. The Cisco ONS 15310-MA has enabled service providers to address the FTTB market because it delivers supercharged SONET/SDH, integrated optical networking, unprecedented multi-services on demand, and radical economic benefits. However, FTTB applications requires providers to deploy equipment to sites that may be unsecured, lacking standard equipment racks, without DC power sources, and/or controlled by outside parties. The Cisco ONS 15310-MA Wall Mount Enclosure (WME) provides a secure environment for the Cisco ONS 15310-MA network equipment, power system, and VRLA batteries (battery back-up) in locations powered by 120VAC with space limitations.

Cisco ONS 15310-MA Wall Mount Enclosure Solutions
The Cisco ONS 15310-MA can be integrated in a number of indoor and outside plant (OSP) enclosures, i.e. Wall Mount (indoors), Pad Mount and Pole Mount OSP (Pole Mount) cabinets that incorporate customer-approved third-party support components. The Indoor Wall Mount Enclosures aer available with three (3) power source options: 1) AC-WME (with Optional Battery Back-Up) for locations that have a 120VAC source, 2) -48VDC WME for locations that have a -48 VDC source, and 3) +24VDC WME for locations that have a +24 VDC source. These configurations are built and/or customized by a Cisco approved partner, Linkmont Technologies, Inc. (Linkmont). Ordering information is listed below.

The Cisco ONS 15310-MA AC-WME, a secure, wall-mountable enclosure, addresses those key FTTB requirements cost-effectively so that service providers can take full advantage of this opportunity at a fraction of the cost, in a fraction of the time. The Cisco ONS 15310-MA WME offers a rectifier with redundant modules, 8 hours of battery back-up capability, and a Cisco ONS 15310-MA Metro Edge Optical Transport Platform as a single, integrated solution.
The AC-WME is certified to operate indoors, not outdoors in uncontrolled environments, such as a covered facility that may be exposed to outside air and contaminants. The Cisco ONS 15310-MA is designed to house VRLA batteries used for battery back-up powering. The AC-WME provides multiple alarm inputs, which can be used to collect information at a remote location and transmit it back to a management center. The AC-WME comes with all of its components pre-installed and prewired (15310-MA DS1 and DS3 cables are not included and must be ordered separately) so that it can be installed, provisioned, and put into service in less than four (4) hours.
