Fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) applications represent an increasingly important opportunity for metropolitan service providers to extend their networks, reach new customers, and profitably grow their businesses. The Cisco ONS 15327 has enabled service providers to address the FTTB market because it delivers supercharged SONET/SDH, integrated optical networking, unprecedented multiservices on demand, and radical economic benefits. However, FTTB applications require service providers to deploy equipment to sites that may be unsecured, lacking standard equipment racks, without DC power sources, and/or controlled by outside parties.

Cisco ONS 15327 Wall Mount Enclosure
The Cisco ONS 15327 WME, a secure, wall-mountable cabinet, addresses these key FTTB requirements cost-effectively so that service providers can take full advantage of this significant opportunity at a fraction of the cost, in a fraction of the time. The Cisco ONS 15327 WME offers a rectifier with redundant modules, 8 hours of battery backup capability, and a Cisco ONS 15327 Metro Edge Optical Transport Platform as a single, convenient solution.
The cabinet is fully NEBS Level III compliant, engineered to withstand Zone 4 seismic activity, and capable of inside plant operation. The Cisco ONS 15327 WME provides multiple alarm inputs, which can be used to collect information at a remote location and transmit it back to a management center. The Cisco ONS 15327 WME comes with all of its components premounted and prewired so that it can be installed, provisioned, and put into service in less than an hour.
