This document provides guidelines for ordering the software and license components needed to deploy Cisco® Application Networking Manager (ANM) 3.0.
Cisco ANM software is part of the Cisco ACE Application Control Engine product family and is a crucial component of any data center or cloud computing architecture that requires centralized configuration, operation, and monitoring of Cisco data center networking equipment and services. Cisco ANM provides this management capability for the Cisco ACE devices, as well as operations management for the Cisco Content Services Switch (CSS), Cisco Content Switching Module (CSM), Cisco Content Switching Module with SSL (CSM-S), and Cisco ACE Global Site Selector (GSS).
Product Numbers
Cisco ANM 3.0 consists of three main components: the base software, licensing for device management, and licensing for virtual contexts where applicable. A fourth component is the high-availability option, which enables a warm-standby Cisco ANM server to run in parallel with the primary Cisco ANM server.
Cisco ANM is licensed based on the number and types of devices to be managed, and where applicable, the number of additional virtual contexts licensed per Cisco ACE device. Cisco ANM must always be ordered for production use, including the base Cisco ANM server software and ANM high-availability (HA) server software. Additional licensing beyond the base Cisco ANM server software may be required depending on the number of devices to be managed and whether any Cisco ACE devices with additional virtual context licenses are installed (even if the devices are not yet in use). Cisco GSS support is included in the Cisco ANM server software and does not require separate licensing.
Table 1 lists the Cisco ANM 3.0 part numbers. The Cisco ANM high-availability product is an optional product for implementation of a high-availability standby server. The part numbers for the Cisco ANM high-availability option are listed in Table 2.

Cisco ANM Licensing Components
The Cisco ANM product family is defined by four components:
• Base server software: ANM-SERVER-30-K9 is the required base product (which is priced at US$0).
• Device-count expansion licenses: Part numbers ANM-AD-nnn are the base software products for Cisco ACE devices. Select the size or combination appropriate for the number of Cisco ACE devices to be managed. A single Cisco ANM server can manage from 5 to 50 Cisco ACE devices, using part numbers ANM-AD-005, -010, -020, or -050. For example, if seven Cisco ACE devices are to be managed, then the managing Cisco ANM server will require installation of either two ANM-AD-005 licenses or one ANM-AD-010 license.
• Virtual context expansion licenses: Part numbers ANM-AV-nnn are the virtual context licenses for Cisco ACE devices. These licenses must match 1:1 with the Cisco ACE virtual contexts licenses on a per-device basis. For example, if seven Cisco ACE devices each have ACE-VIRT-050 installed, then the managing Cisco ANM server will require installation of seven ANM-AV-050 licenses.
• Management server high-availability (HA) licenses: Use complementary part numbers ending with `H' to set up a hot-standby Cisco ANM server, with licenses at a significant discount.
Licensing
Cisco ANM 3.0 implements server-locked licensing with enforcement that requires license keys. To simplify key creation and installation, customers expanding their Cisco ANM installations should order options under ANM-LICENSE-PAK or ANM-LICENSE-PAK-H for each Cisco ANM server to which they want to add capability. For new installations, customers should order options under ANM-SERVER-30-K9 for each server they want to install.
The number of licenses for a given deployment will be determined based on the number of managed devices and the number of additional virtual contexts on those managed devices. The licensing of devices is independent of the use of those devices in redundant configurations (device high availability).
ANM-SERVER-30-K9 is a free software package and is the required component of Cisco ANM, the base software application. This is a full-featured version of Cisco ANM but is limited to management of only two Cisco ACE devices (modules or appliances) with the default number of virtual contexts (five). This package also includes operations support for the full capacity (three clusters) of Cisco GSS devices. The application must be run on a customer-supplied server, and the web browser client is run by the end user on a workstation.
ANM-SERVER-30-K9, without any additional ACE device licenses supports two Cisco ACE devices. When the first additional ACE device license is installed on the Cisco ANM server the total number of manageable ACE devices is based on the additional ACE device license. For example if the first additional ACE device license installed is ANM-AD-005, the number of ACE devices that can be managed changes from 2 to 5.
After this first additional ACE device license, all subsequently added ACE device licenses expand the number of managed devices additively. A server with a license for 5 Cisco ACE devices can manage a total of 5 Cisco ACE devices, not 7. A server with a license for 5 Cisco ACE devices and another license for 10 Cisco ACE devices can manage 15 Cisco ACE devices.
All managed device licenses for CSS, CSM and CSM-S are additive. A server with 2 licenses for 10 Cisco CSS, CSM, or CSM-S devices can manage 20 of those devices.
Additional Cisco ACE virtual context licenses are required on a per-device basis. Additional Cisco ANM virtual context licenses for each managed Cisco ACE device must match or be greater than the virtual context licenses on the Cisco ACE device itself, regardless of the number of virtual contexts actually created or used on the device.
Regardless of the licensing installed, any one server can manage only a fixed number of devices. For configurations requiring more than that number of devices, more than one Cisco ANM server is required.
• Each Cisco ANM server can support up to 50 Cisco ACE devices.
• Each Cisco ANM server can support up to 40 Cisco CSS, CSM, and CSM-S devices.
• Each Cisco ANM server can support up to 3 Cisco GSS clusters running Cisco GSS Software 3.0(2) or higher.
These maximums may be met simultaneously on the same Cisco ANM server depending on the scope and frequency of user and configuration operations, configuration size, and level of monitoring performed.
An evaluation license enables Cisco ANM 3.0 to manage the maximum number of devices and the maximum number of virtual contexts for 90 days, allowing you to evaluate these uses prior to purchasing licenses for production use. (See "Ordering Process: Evaluation License" later in this guide.)

Ordering Process: Evaluation License
An evaluation license enables Cisco ANM 3.0 to manage the maximum number of devices and the maximum number of virtual contexts for 90 days, allowing you to evaluate these uses prior to purchasing licenses for production use.
• To generate a demonstration license: Click the link "If you do not have a Product Authorization Key (PAK), please click here for available licenses" at http://www.cisco.com/go/license.
• Following the instructions, provide the ETH0 MAC address of the server on which you are installing the Cisco ANM demonstration license.
Ordering Process: New Cisco ANM Server Production License
Cisco ANM (ANM-SERVER-30-K9) must be ordered to be received by the customer. Although ANM-SERVER-30-K9 has a list price of US$0, it is not bundled with any Cisco ACE products. Addition of Cisco Software Application Support (SAS) is recommended (for an additional charge).

Technical support services can be ordered for these products, through Cisco SAS programs. Cisco SAS plus Upgrade (SASU) is not available for this product. Service part numbers can be found in this document or in the http://www.cisco.com online ordering tools and price lists.
Ordering Process: Upgrade to Cisco ANM 3.0
Cisco ANM 3.0 supports upgrade on same server from all Cisco ANM 2.0 versions. Customers upgrading from Cisco ANM 1.0 versions must first upgrade to Cisco ANM 2.0 before migrating to Cisco ANM 3.0.
Customers upgrading from Cisco ANM 2.0 running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0 must upgrade to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (base server) Update 2 (5.2) or Update 3 (5.3) 32-bit Server Edition (Linux 2.6 kernel), following the instructions provided in the Installation Guide for Cisco Application Networking Manager 3.0.
All existing Cisco ANM customers are eligible for upgrade without charge to Cisco ANM 3.0.
• Customers upgrading from Cisco ANM 1.0 or 1.1 will require generation of license keys and should contact licensing@cisco.com or open a Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) case (Cisco TAC Global Licensing Operations) to request key generation.
• Customers upgrading from Cisco ANM 1.2 and 2.0 can reuse their existing Cisco ANM licenses when upgrading to Cisco ANM 3.0 on the same server platform.
• Customers wanting to rehost their Cisco ANM on a different server platform should contact Cisco TAC Global Licensing Operations as usual for information about rehosting their existing licenses.
Ordering Process: Adding Device and Virtual Context Licenses to Cisco ANM Server
To simplify key creation and installation, customers expanding their Cisco ANM 3.0 installation should order options under ANM-LICENSE-PAK or ANM-LICENSE-PAK-H for each Cisco ANM server to which they want to add capability. For example, if the purpose of the order is to increase the number of devices that each of three Cisco ANM servers can support, then order three line items of ANM-LICENSE-PAK: one for each server to which the licensing is being added.

Repeat this process as necessary for each Cisco ANM server for which additional licensing is being ordered.

This document provides pricing and ordering information for Cisco ANM 3.0.
Cisco ANM 3.0 uses the same pricing and licensing model as Cisco ANM 2.0. The following two substitutions are the only changes from ANM 2.0 versions to ANM 3.0 versions:
• For "ANM-SERVER-20-K9," substitute "ANM-SERVER-30-K9."
• For "ANM-SERVER-30-H-K9," substitute "ANM-SERVER-30-H-K9."
Two Cisco ACE Modules with Default Virtual Contexts
Entry-Level Cisco ANM
Example Order 1
Customer plans to use two Cisco ACE 8-GB modules with the included five virtual contexts each.
Although an embedded manager is not available on the Cisco ACE Modules, since customer is managing just two Cisco ACE devices with the default number of virtual contexts (five), the entry-level Cisco ANM is all that is needed.
Customer can load the entry-level Cisco ANM on the server the customer provides to manage these two devices.
Customer should order:

Customer plans to use four ACE 8G modules, two ACE 4G modules and two ACE 2G appliances. They have added ACE license for 50 Virtual Contexts on the four 8G ACE modules. All are paired in Active-Standby configurations.
From Cisco ANM perspective, it doesn't matter if these modules and appliances will be run with or without ACE HA options (such as Active-Active, Active-Standby) as each is counted individually for management.
There are 8 devices to be managed, so ANM-AD-010 is selected for the level of Cisco ANM based software.
The default Virtual Contexts are included in the price of ANM-SERVER device support, but customer needs to purchase Virtual Context license expansions for 50 VCs on the four 8G modules.

At a later date, customer from Example Order 3 adds four more Cisco ACE 4-GB modules, each with 20 virtual contexts. For these sets of Cisco ACE 4-GB modules, customer also purchases the Cisco ACE licenses to upgrade the SSL capacity.
Customer purchased ANM-AD-010 in Example Order 3, so customer will also need to get license for additional Cisco ACE devices (now 8 + 4 = 12).
No additional management license is required for the SSL upgrades.
Customer needs to purchase Cisco ACE device license that adds five more devices (total of 15 now) and virtual context license expansions for 20 virtual contexts on the four new modules.

Cisco ANM currently is specified for any one implementation to manage no more than 50 devices. The customer will need to split the devices into two management domains of no more than 50 devices each.
