Problem Description
After customers upgrade Cisco TelePresence System (CTS) software to version 1.9(X) or version 6.0(X) on the TelePresence CTS and TX series, they might find that:
- The unit that attempts to register with the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) fails registration.
- The touch panel shows a connection issue with the Codec.
One possible cause of these problems is that the Manufacturer Installed Certificate (MIC) is missing from the unit.
Background
Cisco found that certain TelePresence endpoints failed to register with the CUCM and determined that the MIC was deleted when CTS software was upgraded. The problem occurs during an upgrade from CTS software 1.9(0) to CTS software 1.9(1) and later.
Problem Symptoms
Cisco TelePresence screens might freeze when the message 'Trying to Establish Connection' is displayed, or the unit might fail to register with the CUCM.
Workaround/Solution
Workaround
Perform these steps in order to ensure the MIC is correctly installed:
- Use Secure Shell (SSH) in order to gain access to admin account.
- Enter the show cert mic command. If there are no certificates found, go to Step 3.
Note: Any static network configuration is erased after Step 3.
- Enter the utils system factory init command.
- Enter the the show cert mic command again in order to verify the MIC was installed .
- Log in to the admin GUI in order to reconfigure the endpoint. The endpoint should register with the CUCM.
Note: Perform the camera and audio calibration after the new MIC is installed.
Solution
This problem has been resolved in the CTS software for CTS500-32, CTS1300-47, TX1310-65, TX9000, TX9200 Version 1.9.4(19) and Version 6.0.1(50).
