Problem Description
Users trying to upgrade to CCA 4.5 from any earlier version will encounter an HTTP 500 error when they attempt to invoke the Web Upgrade functionality of CAS via CAM UI. This is because the upgrade file is too large to be pushed via a Web browser. This functionality of Web Upgrade of CAS is no longer supported in CCA 4.5. This is called out in the CCA 4.5 Release Notes.
Background
The upgrade file has grown too large to be handled correctly by the web upgrade process. This functionality is no longer supported in CCA 4.5 and higher.
Problem Symptoms
The user will receive an HTTP 500 error and the process will halt. No damage is done to the current installation. The requested upgrade just does not complete successfully.
Workaround/Solution
The workaround to this issue is to upgrade to 4.5 using the available methods described in the documentation. The various upgrade methods can be found here :
