Problem Description
A recently discovered hardware incompatibility has been identified in the c4710ace-mz.A1_7.bin version of code for the ACE 4710 Appliance. This incompatibility can cause the ACE 4710 appliance to get stuck in a reboot loop, rendering the device temporarily unusable.
Background
Due to a recent change in a hardware component of the ACE 4710 appliance, a hardware incompatibility with the current version of code has been identified.
Problem Symptoms
The problem symptom is the ACE 4710 Appliance will continously reboot upon startup. It never completes the cycle and never becomes active on the network. The following error message may also be displayed during this process -
++++++++++++++++ insmod: error inserting '/isan/bin/klm_octeon_device.klm': -1 No such device error inserting /isan/bin/klm_octeon_device.klm Daughter Card Not Found. Rebooting.. INIT: Sending all processes the TERM signal... ++++++++++++++++
Workaround/Solution
To resolve this issue you will need to download and install software version c4710ace-mz.3.0.0_A1_7a.bin which can be found here:
Cisco Application Control Appliance Software Downloads (registered customers only) .
This version will prevent this issue from occuring.
