Problem Description
The CRS-1 16 slot line card chassis rear grill shipped between December 21, 2006 and April 30, 2007 may have loose louvres on the grille. There can be a rattling noise when the router is powered on, yet this does not affect the product functionality.
Background
In some instances, the locking tabs that fix the louvres in place may not have been twisted in the manufacturing assembly operation, resulting in vibrating louvres.
Problem Symptoms
Excess noise will occur from the vibrating louvres.
Workaround/Solution
Solutions
1) Procedure to fix the louvres
or
2) RMA the grille
All RMAs will need to be fulfilled from Manufacturing, so code all RMAs related to this Field Notice as:
Service Level: Mfg New - 3rd Bus Day
Failure Class: Administrative Request
Failure Code: Field Notice Alert
