Problem Description
Beginning May 17, 2007, selected obsolete Cisco IOS releases will no longer be available for download from Cisco IOS Software Center on Cisco.com. A full list of affected releases is provided below.
Background
As part of Cisco's on-going Cisco IOS Software Center update program, Cisco is updating Software Center to remove a significant number of obsolete releases. Beginning on May 17, 2007, the releases listed below will no longer be available for download from Software Center. Supported Cisco IOS releases will still be available through Cisco's Technical Assistance Center (TAC) by request.
Note: The Cisco IOS Software Center update program does not change the support status for any IOS release nor does it accelerate or extend the support period for any affected Cisco IOS release. For more details on the Cisco IOS Software Center Update program, consult the Software Center Update product bulletin.
Problem Symptoms
Not applicable.
Workaround/Solution
Customers who require an affected Cisco IOS image may:
-
Use their own locally archived backup copy of the image downloaded prior to the May 17, 2007 removal date.
-
Extract a copy of the image from an existing network device running that software. An image copy can be created using the Cisco IOS copy exec command.
-
Contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) and request a one-time publication of the specific Cisco IOS image.
For more information, refer to the Cisco IOS Software Center Update Q&A.
