Problem Description
If the *PIX/ASA product is located in the U.S. and the product has been configured for the Daylight Savings Time using the clock summer-time command, then the PIX/ASA product will require user intervention in order to prepare for the US-DST date change. If the setting is not manually changed, the system will display incorrect local time when the new Daylight Savings Time starts on March 11, 2007.
If logging is enabled when Daylight Savings Time is configured on the product, see logging related information in the Release Note of the DDTS CSCse60554 and CSCse61225.
If Daylight Savings Time is not configured, then this Daylight Savings Time policy change has no effect on your PIX and ASA.
*Affects all PIX running 6.x versions prior to 006.003(005.123)
Affects all PIX/ASA running 7.0.x versions prior to 007.000 0006.010)

Background
This Energy Policy Act changes the dates for Daylight Savings Time in the United States. In 2007, DST begins on the second Sunday in March and ends the first Sunday in November. This law takes effect March 1, 2007. The new Daylight Savings Time starts March 11, 2007.

Problem Symptoms
The PIX and ASA will display incorrect local time when the new Daylight Savings Time starts if the summer time clock setting is not manually changed. If logging is enabled when Daylight Savings Time is configured on the product, see logging related information in the Release Note of the DDTS CSCse60554 and CSCse61225.
If Daylight Savings Time is not configured using the clock summer-time command, this Daylight Savings Time policy change has no effect on your PIX/ASA product.
Workaround/Solution
The clock summertime command can be used to change the start and the end dates of the Daylight Savings Time on the system.
The new start and end dates can be entered using the clock summer-time command.
Example:
For the Pacific time zone, the command is:
clock summer-time PDT recurring 2 Sun Mar 2:00 1 Sun Nov 2:00 60
