Problem Description
In rare cases, an old LIC driver was installed on some SCEs that may cause interoperability problems in link reflection or auto negotiation capabilities.
Background
Due to an error in the production process, systems were shipped with an older LIC driver installed instead of the required version. The older LIC driver does not include bug fixes related to link reflection and auto negotiation functionalities.
Problem Symptoms
In rare cases, link reflection or auto negotiation malfunction will be exhibited. Power shut down may recover the system.
Workaround/Solution
Solution:
-
For proactive action, check LIC driver version as follows:
-
On system CLI type debug slot 0 ppc 0 func LIC_Dump
-
Read the Driver Ver line.
-
If the LIC driver version is 114 (showing 1140000) or below, reinstall the OS package. This process will update the LIC properly.
-
-
If one of the Problem Symptoms is experienced, reinstall the OS package.
