Product Bulletin, No. 1042
Cisco IOS Software Release 12.0(7)XE1 for the Cisco 7100, 7200 and 7500 Series Routers
Introduction
This product bulletin describes the content and delivery of Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.0(7)XE1 on the Cisco 7100, 7200, and 7500 Series routers. Cisco IOS Release 12.0(7)XE included images for the Catalyst 6000 series only, and release 12.0(7)XE1 introduces images for the Cisco 7100, 7200, and 7500 Series routers in addition to images for the Catalyst 6000 series.
Cisco IOS 12.0XE releases are short-lived early deployment (ED) releases based on Release 12.0T. 12.0XE releases, which support Cisco 7100, 7200, 7500, and Catalyst 6000 platforms, are created when needed to make features, interfaces, and platforms available before they appear in a subsequent 12.0T or 12.1-based release. 12.0XE releases should be chosen when support for these new features is required; if all required features are already available in a 12.0T release, 12.0T is generally recommended. Cisco IOS 12.0XE releases do not receive regular maintenance updates, and customers should migrate to a subsequent 12.1E or 12.1T release to receive maintenance releases.
This document should be used in conjunction with "Cisco IOS Software Release 12.0T," Product Bulletin #815, at:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/cisco/mkt/ios/rel/120/prodlit/815_pb.htm
For information about the Cisco IOS software release process, please see "Types of Cisco IOS Software Releases," Product Bulletin #537, at:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/cisco/mkt/ios/rel/prodlit/537_pp.htm
Before deploying a new software release in a production network, always consult appropriate product-specific documentation, release notes, and field notices, refer to the online defect tracking system, and perform acceptance testing in your own test environment.
Support
Release 12.0(7)XE1 supports the policy listed in the Cisco Systems Product Support Policy publication at:
