Cisco IOS Software X-Release 12.1(11)YJ

This Product Bulletin describes the content and delivery information concerning Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.1(11)YJ. It should be used in conjunction with the Product Bulletin titled, Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1EA. Cisco IOS Release 12.1(11)YJ is a short-lived Early Deployment (ED) release parented to 12.1(11)EA1 and supporting Cisco Catalyst 2950 Long-Reach Ethernet (LRE) Series Intelligent Ethernet switches. This release contains all new features delivered in 12.1 up to 12.1(11)EA1. This IOS software release should not be used for the Cisco Catalyst 2950 Series Intelligent Ethernet switches.

The platform and features delivered with this ED release will be immediately incorporated into Cisco IOS 12.1(X)EA1 and subsequent Cisco IOS 12.1(X)EA1 releases. It is important to note that there are no planned maintenance releases for this ED release. In addition, please note the migration path to the latest EA1 release. Customers should prepare to upgrade using this migration path.

New Features in Cisco IOS Release 12.1(11)YJ

The following features will be delivered in the initial release of 12.1(11)YJ.

Support for Long-Reach Ethernet interfaces	Deliver between 2-15 Mbps symmetric over category 1-3 wiring at distances up to 5000 feet
Rate Selection	Automates the normally tedious manual process of selecting a profile that can be supported on a given interface
Support for 1000BASE-SX and 1000BASE-LX SFPs	Support Small Form-Factor Pluggable SX and LX modules
LRE Link Persistence	LRE link state changes (up/down) are delayed to prevent spanning-tree and MAC address table changes
MIB support for LRE link and CPE Ethernet ports	Allows Network Management System to determine LRE profile selected on a port and Ethernet statistics on LRE CPE ports
