End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1
Cisco Systems announces the end of life of the Cisco IOS® Software Major Release 12.1. This announcement applies to all releases in the Major Release12.1 family, but does notapply to Release 12.1E. The last day to order the Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1 isJune12, 2004. Maintenance releases and software fixes will no longer be available via Release 12.1 as of February 12, 2005. Software defects found in this release are addressed by migrating to Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2 or later releases. Customers under maintenance contract will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until June 12, 2009. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for this release.
Product Migration Options
Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco IOS Software Releases 12.2 and 12.3, which deliver the functionality from Release 12.1, in addition to new features and bug fixes. When upgrading to a more recent release, certain software images may not be available, hardware or may not be supported, or there may be changes to memory requirements.
