Q. How can I configure the NSS4000/6000 series to join my Active Directory Domain?
A.Note: This article assumes your ADS domain is configured properly and working.
Step 1:
Check if the time on the NSS device is within five minutes of the time on your ADS domain controller by going to Admin then looking for Time.Step 2:
Go to Network then DNS/WINS and enter your DNS server settings.
Step 3:
Go to Network then Identification. Enter your Active Directory domain information and make sure you use a username and password that has privileges for the NSS device to join your domain such as an Administrator's account. For Active Directory Domain enter your domain name only. For Kerberos Realm, enter the full FQDN name such as small-business.local instead of small-business. Once it has successfully joined, you will see the message Join is OK next to Status.
Step 4:
Your Domain users will now show up in Users in Access.
Step 5:
Your domain groups will only show up when you create a share by going to Shares then Shares then Create New Share.
