End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement

for Cisco IDS 4210 Appliance Sensor

Cisco Systems^® announces the end of life of the Cisco^® IDS 4210 Appliance Sensor. The last day to order the Cisco IDS 4210 is December 6, 2003. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until December 6, 2008. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco IDS 4210.

The replacement products for the Cisco IDS 4210 is the Cisco IDS 4215. The 4215 delivers increased performance at 80 Mbps, with a reduced form factor. The IDS 4215 also delivers lower price/performance and lowers total cost of ownership with the provision of multiple sniffing interfaces (4 FE) through an optional field upgrade.

Last shipment date	The last-possible ship date that can be requested of Cisco and/or its contract manufacturers. Actual ship date is dependent on led time.	March 6, 2004
End of new service attachment date	For equipment and software that is not covered by a service-and-support contract, this is the last date to order a new service-and-support contract or add the equipment and/or software to an existing service-and-support contract.	December 6, 2004
End of service contract renewal date	The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product. The extension or renewal period cannot extend beyond the last date of support.	December 6, 2007
Last date of support	The last date to receive service and support for Cisco IDS 4210 Sensor Appliance. After this date, all support services for Cisco IDS 4210 are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.	December 6, 2008
