Overview
This document contains the
End-of-Life plan for ONS 15800 and ONS 15801 old versions of Power Distribution
Panels (PDP). PDP mounted horizontally
at the top of each bay, distributes power and provides current protection to
individual shelves.
EOL Justification and Rationale
End-of-Life plan for ONS 15800 and ONS 15801 old versions of Power
Distribution Panels is justified by the introduction of new version of PDP. New
versions of PDP have better performances and satisfy last updates of
international requirements about Electrical Safety: NEBS Level 3 (in particular
UL 1950) and CE mark (in particular EN 60950).

On Line Configurator Tool on CCO (http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/front.x/apollo/servlet/ICITServlet)
has already been updated with new PDPs, so it is not possible to order new
sites with old PDPs.
In case of failure of one of the old PDP, it is mandatory to
replace with a new one.
For ONS 15801 a swap of PDP-Q with one PDP-10A or PDP-15A
can be done without any added info respect Installation Manual.
For ONS 15800 a swap of PDP-20A / PDP-50A with one PDP-10A
or PDP-15A can be done without any added info respect Installation Manual if
the replacement will be done with one with the same Amperage. In any case it is
suggested to add a ground bar when it is necessary to replace the PDP.
In
case it is required to swap an old PDP with a new one with higher Amperage, it
is need to check that power cables dimensioning respect current normative.
