Introduction
The Cisco ONS 15800 / ONS
15801 DWDM system is a field proven, Internet scale, carrier class optical
transport platform that allows service providers to maximize the use of
installed fiber over long-haul networks, and it can scale with the exponential
growth of the Internet traffic. Combined with other Cisco products, the Cisco
ONS 15800 / ONS 15801 enables carriers to build a flexible end-to-end optical
solution that meets the requirements of carrier-class reliability. The multiple
band design of the Cisco ONS 15800 / ONS 15801 allows carriers incomparable
flexibility to deploy applications and add wavelengths as needed. This feature,
combined with an open systems architecture, makes the Cisco ONS 15800 / ONS
15801 the most adaptable DWDM system available.

15800 / ONS 15801 Common Software Maintenance Release #1 Issue Resolutions
The Cisco
ONS 15800/01 solution is deployed in a wide range of customers in multiple
applications. Customer feedback and Cisco's testing group help identify areas
of improvement, which ultimately drives the constant evolution of the product
and its functionality. ONS 15800/01 Common Software Maintenance Release #1 is
designed to further strengthen the overall software code base. This maintenance
release resolves anomalies for the following system releases:
