Cisco ONS 15190 Series
End of Sale Announcement

Cisco Systems announces the end of sale (EoS) of the Cisco ONS 15190 IP Transport Concentrator effective April 22, 2002. The Cisco ONS 15190 is being replaced by the new Cisco ONS 15194, which is a higher-density, higher-performance IP transport management platform providing a superior scaling and management solution for DPT and POS networks.

End of Hardware Maintenance	4/22/2004 After this date, Cisco is not obligated to fix hardware bugs.
End of Software Maintenance	4/22/2005 Until this date, Cisco will continue to support all released versions of software and hardware version for these cards.
End of Support Announcement	10/22/2005
End of One-Year Support Contracts Renewals	4/22/2006 After this date, one-year support contracts will not be renewed.
End of Six-Month Support Contracts Renewals	10/22/2006 After this date, six-month support contracts will not be renewed.

Support Programs

EoS refers to the time when certain products are no longer available for new purchases. It does not apply to the service and support programs for those products. Cisco will continue to support the Cisco ONS 15190 parts mentioned in Table 2 after EoS through the Cisco SPBase and comprehensive maintenance programs. Customers with either of these service contracts are entitled to free software updates, 24-hour phone support through the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC), and advance replacement hardware for repairs. Comprehensive maintenance customers also receive onsite service. Customers who do not have a maintenance contract can purchase software updates and hardware repair services from Cisco to meet specific requirements rather than full service coverage. Cisco is committed to providing hardware support for a period of two years and providing software support for a period of three years after the EoS date.

Cisco Recommended Product Alternatives

Cisco offers the ONS 15194 platform as replacement for OC-48 deployments. All the OC-48 features currently supported by the ONS 15190 are also supported by the new ONS 15194. As with all Cisco products, trade-in credit will be given to customers who wish to trade in their existing ONS 15190 products (Table 2) through the Cisco Technology Migration Plan.
