The effective date of the End of Life (EoL) is May 31, 2002. Customers will receive Technical Assistance Center (TAC) and RMA support for these modules as noted below in the Milestone Dates section.

There are a few differences between the LDM and its replacement HDM, as outlined below:
- No support of 8-port Back Card for IGX-HDM. IGX-HDM supports 4-port Back Cards with a choice of different physical interfaces.
- No support of control bit transport mode called "Embedded EIA" on IGX-HDM
- IGX-HDM supports data rates from 1.2kbps up to 1344kbps on all 4 ports. IGX-LDM supports data rates from 1.2kbps up to 56kbps per port on the 4-port version and 1.2kbps to 19.2kbps per port on the 8-port version.

End of Engineering (Firmware and Hardware): December 2004
End of Service Contract Renewal: December 10, 2005
End of Support/End of Life: December 10, 2006
Ordering Information
May 31, 2002 will be the last date to enter orders for all items listed in Table 1. Hardware support will be provided until December 2006. Switch Software 9.3 will be the last release supporting these cards. Customers will continue to receive Technical Assistance Center and RMA support until November 2006.
