End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the
WAN Interface Card with Part Number WIC-1DSU-T1

Cisco Systems^® announces the end of life of the WAN interface card with part number WIC-1DSU-T1. The last day to order the WIC-1DSU-T1 is September 30, 2004. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until September 30, 2009. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the WIC-1DSU-T1. Table 2 provides the part number for the end-of-sale product.

Customers are encouraged to migrate to the WAN interface card with part number WIC-1DSU-T1-V2. The WIC-1DSU-T1-V2 has all of the features of the WIC-1DSU-T1. For more information about the WIC-1DSU-T1-V2, please view the data sheet at

The WIC-1DSU-T1-V2 is supported in the following minimum Cisco IOS^® Software releases:

•12.2(17) Mainline and later

•12.3(1) Mainline and later

•12.3(2)T and later

•12.2(15)ZL and later special releases (Cisco^® 1700 Series Router only)

End of routine failure analysis date	The last possible date a routine failure analysis may be performed to determine the cause of product failure or defect.	September 30, 2005
End of new service attachment date	For equipment and software that is not covered by a service-and-support contract, this is the last date to order a new service-and-support contract or add the equipment and/or software to an existing service-and-support contract.	September 30, 2005
End of service contract renewal date	The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product. The extension or renewal period cannot extend beyond the last date of support.	September 30, 2008
Last date of support	The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.	September 30, 2009

The recommended replacement for the WIC-1DSU-T1 is the WIC-1DSU-T1-V2. Table 3 shows some of key differences.

1 Cisco 1701, 1710, 1711, and 1712 are fixed-configuration routers and do not support the WIC-1DSU-T1-V2. Also, the Cisco 1750 does not support this WIC. 2 Cisco 1600 and 1600R routers are no longer sold by Cisco. 3 Cisco 1701, 1710, 1711, and 1712 are fixed-configuration routers and do not support the WIC-1DSU-T1. 4 The Cisco 2600 Series (non-XM) models are no longer sold by Cisco. 5 Cisco 3620, 3640, 3640A, and 3660 (non-CO) models are no longer sold by Cisco.
