High-Speed Serial Interface Port Adapter for Cisco 7200, 7300, 7400, 7500 and 7600 Series Routers
Product Overview
Increasing demand for bandwidth-intensive services and wide-area network (WAN) connectivity requires that network administrators maximize the capacity and efficiency of network routers. Cisco Systems' High-Speed Serial Interface (HSSI) port adapters enables network administrators to leverage their investments in Cisco 7200, 7300, 7400, 7500 and 7600 Series Routers. This port adapter increases port density and enhances performance at the industry's lowest price per port.
High-Speed Serial Interface
Cisco's HSSI provides either single or dual high-density serial connections that increase packet speeds up to 52 Mbps. HSSI is available in a single port version (PA-H) and dual port versions (PA-2H). Each port supports a full-duplex 52 Mbps interface. Both versions require either a single slot in a Cisco 7200, 7301 or 7400 chassis or a single slot on a Versatile Interface Processor, PA Carrier Card or FlexWAN for Cisco 7500, 7304 and 7600 respectively. HSSI enables network administrators to significantly increase serial port density and deliver high-quality of service for bandwidth-intensive applications such as video and multimedia services.
