One-Port Gigabit Ethernet Port Adapter Module for Cisco 7200VXR Routers
with NPE-300

Cisco announces the next step in backbone connectivity and flexibility for Internet service providers (ISPs) and enterprises, the one-port Gigabit Ethernet Port Adapter Module for Cisco 7200VXR routers with NPE-300.

The Gigabit Ethernet port adapter offers an additional choice of high-speed LAN connection to the Cisco 7200VXR. The Gigabit Ethernet port adapter does not offer wire-rate performance on Cisco 7200VXR but does offer performance throughput suitable to WAN aggregation applications. The Cisco 7200VXR—when deployed as a WAN aggregation router—can be integrated into a gigabit Ethernet campus backbone using the new Gigabit Ethernet port adapter.

The Gigabit Ethernet port adapter is a single-width port adapter. It requires a Gigabit interface converter (GBIC). Customers must order a Gigabit Ethernet port adapter and an appropriate GBIC.
