End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement
for the Cisco Storage Array 6-AC

Cisco Systems^® announces the end of life of the Cisco Storage Array 6 Series of products. The last day to order the Cisco Storage Array 6-DC product was June 30, 2002 (see Product Bulletin No.1828) and the last day to order the Cisco Storage Array 6-AC was January 14, 2003. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for the Storage Array 6-AC until January 14, 2008. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Storage Array 6-AC product.

Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco Storage Array 7, which provides superior storage and performance capabilities for both the previous and the latest generation of Cisco content engines running Cisco Application and Content Networking System (ACNS) Software. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco Storage Array 6 to the Cisco Storage Array 7.

Last Shipment Date	The last possible date product shipment can be deferred to.	April 14, 2003
End-of-Routine Failure Analysis Date	The last possible date a routine failure analysis may be performed to determine the cause of product failure or defect.	January 14, 2004
End-of-New Service Attachment Date	For equipment and software that is not covered by a service-and-support contract, this is the last date to order a new service-and-support contract or add the equipment and/or software to an existing service-and-support contract.	January 14, 2004
End-of-Service Contract Renewal Date	The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product. The extension or renewal period cannot extend beyond the last date of support.	September 14, 2007
Last Date of Support	The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.	January 14, 2008

Product Migration Options

The recommended replacement for the Cisco Storage Array 6 is the Cisco Storage Array 7 (Table 3). The new Cisco Storage Array 7 (SA-7) product provides additional external SCSI storage support for all the software and hardware releases of the Cisco content engines supported by the previous Storage Array 6 product. In addition, the Cisco SA-7 provides full support for the next generation of Cisco Content Engine products recently released with Cisco ACNS Software 5.0.
