Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the 40-pack bundle of the Cisco® Aironet® 5 GHz 54 Mbps Wireless LAN Client Adapter. This announcement pertains to the specified bundle part number only. Please note that the Cisco Aironet 5 GHz 54 Mbps Wireless LAN Client Adapter can still be purchased individually. The last day to order the 40-pack bundle is January 15, 2005. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the 40-pack bundle. Table 2 lists the product part number affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the 40-pack bundle of the Cisco Aironet IEEE 802.11a/b/g Wireless CardBus Adapter. These Wi-Fi-compliant adapters provide high-performance, 54 Mbps connectivity in the 2.4- and 5-GHz bands.

Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the 40-pack bundle of the wireless LAN client adapters to the 40-pack bundle of the wireless CardBus adapters.

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
The recommended replacement for the 40-pack bundle of the Cisco Aironet 5 GHz 54 Mbps Wireless LAN Client Adapter is the 40-pack bundle of the Cisco Aironet IEEE 802.11a/b/g Wireless CardBus Adapters (Table 3). The replacement adapter provides high-performance, 54-Mbps connectivity in the 2.4- and 5-GHz bands. Whether configured to support single 802.11b coverage, single 802.11g coverage, single 802.11a coverage, dual-mode 802.11a/g coverage, or tri-mode 802.11a/b/g coverage, the Cisco Aironet 802.11a/b/g Wireless Cardbus Adapter is Wi-Fi-compliant and combines the freedom of wireless connectivity with the performance, security, and manageability that businesses require.
