Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco® uBR7100 Universal Broadband Router Series Components. The last day to order the affected product(s) is April 25, 2008. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available until the termination date of the contract, even if this date exceeds the Last Date of Support shown in Table 1.

Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco uBR7225VXR Universal Broadband Router with the uBR7200-NPE-G2 Network Processor Engine. The Cisco uBR7225VXR Universal Broadband Router is a flexible and modular platform that provides operational and configuration familiarity of the Cisco uBR product series. The uBR7225VXR can support up to 5,000 subscribers. It is optimally designed for any cable operator requiring a modular and higher-density cable modem termination system while not requiring the high density of the uBR10012 or the form factor of the uBR7246VXR. In addition, the uBR225VXR is highly suitable for emerging markets and tier 2/3 cable network operators. It is a standards-based platform providing support for DOCSIS, Euro-DOCSIS 2.0,and PacketCable 1.1 technology. The uBR7225VXR is compatible with two new cable line cards, the Cisco uBR-E-28U and uBR-E-16U Broadband Processing Engine, to provide a maximum of 16 upstream and 4 downstream ports in a two-rack-unit form factor. Customers who have the Cisco uBR-MC16U or uBR-MC28U line card can also reuse them in the Cisco uBR7225VXR chassis.
