E1 R2 Collect Call Blocking Feature
Cisco 2801 Routers-IP Voice and Above Images
The E1 R2 Call Blocking feature provides two ways to block incoming collect calls-category-based and double answer. With category-based call blocking, collect calls will be blocked based on a specific category. For example, in Brazil, collect calls arrive with a category II-8, for which the Cisco access router will send B-7 as a response instead of an answer signal. This approach is only applicable when switches in the central office support category-based blocking.
For legacy switches that do not support category-based blocking, the double answer method is implemented on the Cisco 2801 router to support the collect-call blocking. For an incoming collect call, the gateway will answer the call with a clearback after one second and re-answer the call after two seconds, causing the collect call to be dropped and normal calls to stay connected. This can be implemented as a command-line interface (CLI) option for any country.
VRF Lite
Cisco 831, 836, and 837 Routers-IP Plus and Above Images
Virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) lite allows separate routed networks with distinct routing tables and potentially overlapping address space to exist on the same router. When enabled, Ethernet 2 will allow for a DMZ to be enabled on Port 4 of the switch. For this release, physical and dialer interfaces have been tested and are supported. IP Security (IPSec) tunnels and Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) tunnels initiated from the router are not supported for VRF context endpoints.
Tables 2 and 3 list image product numbers and feature sets for Cisco 830 Series and 2801 routers. Tables 4 and 5 list ordering information for Cisco 830 Series and 2801 routers.
