Cisco Systems® announces the end of sale and end of life for the 1-port G.SHDSL WAN interface cards with part numbers WIC-1SHDSL and WIC-1SHDSL-V2. The last day to order these products is March 1, 2006. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until March 1, 2011. Customers are encouraged to migrate to the 1-port G.SHDSL WAN interface card with part number WIC-1SHDSL-V3.
The replacement 1-port G.SHDSL WAN interface card (WIC-1SHDSL-V3) is supported on the following platforms: Cisco 1721, 1751, 1760, 1841, 2600XM Series, 2691, 2800 Series, 3700 Series, and 3800 Series routers.
It is supported in the following minimum Cisco IOS® Software releases:
• Special 12.4(2)XA release (Cisco.com date: October 3, 2005)
• 12.4(3rd) Mainline and later mainline releases (Cisco.com date: October 24, 2005)
• 12.4(3rd)T and later T trains (Cisco.com date: February 2006)
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected products. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement, Table 3 provides the mapping between the end of sale and replacement part numbers, and Table 4 lists the primary differences between the end-of-life and replacement WAN interface cards.
