End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco 12008 and 12012 Chassis

Cisco® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco 12008 and 12012 Chassis. The last day to order the affected product(s) is February 28, 2005. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available until the termination date of the contract, even if this date exceeds the Last Date of Support shown in Table 1.
Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco 12008 and 12012 chassis to the Cisco 12006 and 12010 chassis.

Special note on IOS support for the new Cisco 12006 and 12010 chassis: supported on 12.0(27)S at FCS; support on 12.0(24)S, 12.0(25)S and 12.0(26)S is post-FCS.

Product Migration Options

The recommended replacements for the Cisco 12008 and 12012 chassis is the Cisco 12006 and 12010 chassis.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to newer Cisco 12000 Series Routers, 12006 and 12010 chassis, which support all line cards, as well as the features and functions supported by the Cisco 12008 and Cisco 12012 chassis.
