Cisco Systems® announces the End-of-Life of the Cisco® 15600-R1.0.0SWCD. The last day to order the Cisco 15600-R1.0.0SWCD is December 31, 2003. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until December 31, 2003. Table 1 describes the End-of-Life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco 15600-R1.0.0SWCD.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the 15600-LIC-UPG, which is the next release of software for the ONS 15600. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco 15600-R1.0.0SWCD to the 15600-LIC-UPG.

There is only one migration plan for existing Release 1.0.0 customers, upgrading to R1.1.0 software. The recommended replacement for the Cisco 15600-R1.0.0SWCD is the 15600-LIC-UPG (Table 3). The 15600-LIC-UPG is the next available release of software R1.1.0 for the ONS 15600. Added to this release is full support of R1.0.0, 2F BLSR, and support for new OC-48/OC-192 SR modules and bug fixes for R1.0.0. 15600-LIC-UPG also contains code to support the new AMCC nP3400 Rev C3C chip on the 15600-TSC module as well as the exiting AMCC nP3400 Rev C2C chip.
