Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® FE 511 File Engine. The last day to order the affected product is February 28, 2006. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until February 28, 2011.
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
The recommended replacement for the Cisco FE 511 File Engine is the Cisco WAE-511 Wide Area Application Engine (Table 3). The Cisco WAE-511 uses the same hardware and provides all identical capabilities and features of the Cisco FE 511 File Engine. It adds the ability to also run Cisco ACNS Software on the same hardware, eliminating the need for customers deploying both Cisco 511 content engines and Cisco FE 511 file engines to maintain sparing for separate platforms.
