Cisco Systems® announces the End-of-Life of the Cisco® 507, 560, 590, and Network Module-20GB Content Engines, the Cisco 4430 Content Router, the Cisco 4630 Content Distribution Manager, and the Cisco Application and Content Networking System (ACNS) Software Version 4.2. The last day to order these ACNS family products will be July 6, 2004. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until July 5, 2009. Table 1 describes the End-of-Life milestones, definitions, and dates for these products.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the new Cisco 510A, 565A, 7305A, and 7325A Content Engines which offer the latest in hardware component upgrades, performance, and flexibility.
Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the End-of-Life products to their corresponding replacement products.

*The CE-507, CE-560, and CE-590 product IDs were replaced with the corresponding "-K9" product IDs some time ago. So although their actual End-of-Sale date has already occurred, they will follow the same End-of-Service/Support dates listed in Table 1.
PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
The recommended replacement for the EoL products listed above are the Cisco 510A, 565A, 7305A, and 7325A Content Engines (Table 3). These Content Engines are built with the latest hardware components and use the latest major release of the ACNS software, version 5.0 or higher. These Content Engines are already available. Starting with ACNS 5.0, the 565 and 7305 Content Engines are capable of operating as Content Engines, Content Routers, or Content Distribution Managers by using simple command line interface commands to change their "personality."
