Introduction
Cisco WCS Navigator manages multiple Cisco WCSs (running the same release as Cisco WCS Navigator) and provides a unified view of the network. Cisco WCS Navigator uses SOAP/XML over HTTPS to communicate with individual WCSs. Cisco WCS Navigator provides a monitoring and reporting capability across all WCSs. In addition, network-wide searches are available. In Windows and Linux operating systems, Cisco WCS Navigator runs as a service and resumes running after a reboot.
Cisco WCS Navigator delivers an aggregated platform for enhanced scalability, manageability, and visibility of large-scale implementations of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network. This software-based solution gives network administrators easy access to information from multiple, geographically diverse Cisco WCS management platforms. Cisco WCS Navigator supports partitioning of the unified wireless network at the management level.

Hardware Requirements for Cisco WCS Navigator
The following server hardware and software are required to support Cisco WCS Navigator for Windows or Linux operating systems:

Client Requirements
We recommend the following web browsers on a Windows platform:

Using a web browser running on Windows Server 2003 to access the Cisco WCS Navigator web GUI is not recommended because Windows Server 2003 security settings may result in browsing problems.
The client running the web browser must have a minimum of 1 GB of RAM and a 2-GHz processor. The client device should not be running any CPU or memory-intensive applications.

This section describes the operational notes for Cisco WCS Navigator.
WCS and Navigator Compatibility
Cisco WCS and Cisco WCS Navigator must be from the same release in order to be compatible (see Table 1). Although the release numbers may vary, you must verify whether they were part of the same release.
For example, Cisco WCS Navigator 1.0 is compatible with Cisco WCS 4.1, and Cisco WCS Navigator 1.1.x is compatible with any Cisco WCS 4.2.x.

Japanese Microsoft Windows Support
Cisco WCS Navigator can also be used on a server using the Japanese version of the Microsoft Windows operating system. By default, Cisco WCS Navigator runs in English.
