Introduction

Warning Cisco sold this LCD Professional Series display to you with the expectation that you will attach it to a Cisco Digital Media Player (DMP) for use in your digital signage network or your enterprise TV network. In this way, your LCD display is an accessory for the DMP to which it is attached. The regulatory compliance information for that DMP extends to all of its accessories, including this LCD display. See the printed regulatory compliance document that you received with your DMP. Alternatively, see the most recent revision of that document on Cisco.com at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps7220/prod_installation_guides_list.html. The "Important Safety and Compliance Information" chapter in User Guide for Cisco LCD Professional Series Displays contains warnings, cautionary messages, and statements of compliance with international regulations that supplement the compliance statements for your DMP. Read these two guides together and always use this product correctly.

This guide describes known issues for these LCD display models in the Cisco LCD Professional Series:

LCD-100-Pro-40N (40" model)

LCD-110-Pro-52S (52" model)

Updates and Errata for Printed Documentation

Some printings of Quick Install Guide for Cisco LCD Professional Series Displays state that your product kit contains AAA batteries, but this statement is no longer correct. To operate your remote control, you must obtain separately and install the AAA batteries that it requires.

Table 1 describes possible unexpected behavior by Cisco LCD Professional Series displays.

When you use an HDMI cable or a DVI cable to connect a Cisco Digital Media Player (DMP) endpoint to an LCD display from the Cisco LCD Professional Series, you can use Digital Media Manager-Digital Signage Module (DMM-DSM) to transmit RS-232 commands through your DMP to the LCD display and thereby manage it centrally from anywhere. When HDMI is the connection type from a DMP to a Professional Series display, centralized management from DMM-DSM works immediately, without any prerequisites. However, when DVI is the connection type, centralized management does not work immediately.

Workaround: Complete this simple task at the physical installation site for your LCD display so that you can start to centrally manage it:

1. Do either of the following:

On the remote control for your LCD display, press Menu.

On the front panel of your LCD display, press Menu.

2. Choose Input > Source List > DVI, and then press Enter.

3. Choose Input > Edit Name > DVI > HD STB, and then press Enter.

The Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) strings for your display do not refer to it correctly as being a Cisco product.

There is no workaround.
