Cisco TelePresence Server

'Connection Failed' message on a TelePresence Server

 Feedback

The status of the TelePresence Server is Connection failed. What does this mean and how can I recover?

What this means

The TelePresence Server is unable to connect to the Conference controller.

See the online help topic, Displaying the TelePresence Server list for an explanation of the connection status entries.

There are a number of reasons why you may see Connection failed, including:

  • a network problem between the two TelePresence Servers
  • the http/https service on the controlled TelePresence Server is not enabled
  • the TelePresence Server that is being controlled is down or in a 'shutdown' state
  • there is a mismatch between the two devices; for example, if the Conference controller tries to control a TelePresence Server that is also configured as a Conference controller.

How can I recover?

Click Retry connection. If this does not work, check the network, and the status of the TelePresence Server that is being controlled.
