Can I use a T1 with a Cisco TelePresence MCU?
Yes. However certain limitations may apply depending on the series of T1 that you have.
There are currently three variations of T1 systems:
- First generation T1s (using a Codec C90)
- Cisco TelePresence System T1
- Cisco TelePresence System Profile 65 (using a Cisco TelePresence System Codec C60)
Cisco TelePresence System T1
The Cisco TelePresence System T1 can participate in conferences on the Cisco TelePresence MCU 4500 Series. However, the following limitations apply:
- You will not be able to see the immersive telepresence layouts
- You cannot set up conferences automatically using the control panel
- You cannot change layouts
The Cisco TelePresence System T1 solution has been developed to closely integrate with the Cisco TelePresence Server and that is the recommended multipoint infrastructure solution. Telepresence Layouts are only available when you connect to a Cisco TelePresence Server (TS7010, MSE8710)
First generation T1s and Profile 65
First generation T1s and Profile 65 can participate in conferences on the Cisco TelePresence MCU 4500 Series. The T1 will function as a normal endpoint participating in a conference, and providing you have a remote control you can change layouts using Far End Camera Control, and set up conferences. You will not be able to see the Telepresence Layouts unless you connect to a Telepresence Server (TS7010, MSE8710)
This article applies to the following products:
- Cisco TelePresence Codec C60
- Cisco TelePresence Codec C90
