New and Changed Information

The Cisco Physical Access Control Release 1.5.0 is backward compatible with the Cisco Physical Access Control 1.4.1 and 1.3.2 releases. Users using earlier versions of CPAM should upgrade to version 1.3.2 and then to 1.5.0. The services that worked with Cisco Physical Access Control 1.4.1 continue to work with Access Control 1.5.0.

This chapter summarizes the new and changed features in the Cisco Physical Access Control 1.5.0 release, and provides information on where the feature is documented. For more information on the Cisco Physical Access Control 1.5.0 release, see http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9688/prod_release_notes_list.html.

Door default settings

In the current CPAM version, the door property is changed with respect to badge authentication. If badge not in Gateway property of the door, which was set to Deny by defaut in the earlier version, is set to Use Server by default. This enables the badge to be authenticated if the badge is present in CPAM, but it does not exist in the gateway.

Note This option is enabled by default for new installations. Customers upgrading from previous versions need to change the options in the door properties if desired.

Custom field tabs

CPAM 1.5.0 includes Custom Field Tabs under Admin module. This enables the addition of values in the Custom Field Tabs window, where the values added will be displayed in the personnel or the badge module corresponding to the personnel or badge records edited.

Credential download status indicator

The status bar in the menu changes to green color if the credential of the user is downloaded in a successful manner, changes to yellow color if the download is in progress, or changes to red color if the credential downloading process fails.
