License and Documentation Guide for
Cisco NAC Profiler, Release 3.1.1

Document Number 78-19566-01 Published August 2010

This document provides important license and documentation information for the Cisco NAC Profiler system that consists of the Cisco NAC Profiler Server (shipped as a separate appliance) and the Cisco NAC Profiler Collector component, which must be enabled on the Cisco NAC Appliance Clean Access Server (CAS). The Cisco NAC Profiler has been purpose-built to provide the capability to discover, locate, and determine the type and capabilities of all endpoints connected to the enterprise network. The Cisco NAC Profiler system provides a contextual inventory of the endpoints using network resources that enable IT organizations to know: what is connected to the network, and where does it exist.

Software License Claim Certificate

A Product Authorization Key (PAK) for each Cisco NAC Profiler system that you purchase is affixed as a sticky label at the bottom of the Software License Claim Certificate card included in your package. Carefully follow the instructions on this card to perform customer registration via web. You must submit each PAK you received and correctly enter the eth0 MAC address of your Cisco NAC Profiler Server to obtain valid license file(s) for your system.

For each PAK that you submit, a license file is generated and sent to you via email, which you should save to disk. You will need to install these license files on your Cisco NAC Profiler Server later. For details, see Cisco NAC Profiler Service Contract/Licensing Support at the following location: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/nac/appliance/support_guide/license.html
