In response, Cisco has completely reengineered its data center security solution suite and launched Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI) Security Solutions.
These next-generation solutions let organizations take advantage of the unmatched power, flexibility, and performance of their modern data center environments without compromising functionality or security.
Our architectural approach provides a simple method of weaving security into the fabric of today’s dynamic, application-oriented data centers. With ACI security solutions, data center administrators can use security as a pool of resources, matching them to applications and transactions, as required, using Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (Cisco APIC). The solutions scale on demand, have programmable automation, and operate in physical as well as virtual environments. The initial offerings of this suite include the Cisco ASA next generation firewalls: a newly updated Cisco ASA 5585-X Adaptive Security Appliance with advanced clustering capabilities as well as the Cisco ASA Virtual Firewall (ASAv) for virtual environments.
