Cisco IT deploys unified communications to enhance business productivity. Integrating communications with business processes ensures that information reaches employees every time, regardless of their working environment or location. Unified communications includes the following topics.

Communications Applications
Communications applications help to unify an employee’s workspace and enable more effective personal communications by integrating solutions such as messaging and voice and web conferencing with common desktop business tools.

IP Contact Center
The Cisco IP Contact Center (IPCC) solution provides intelligent call routing, network-to-desktop CTI, and contact management to enterprise agents over an IP network. The ability to create new software solutions or integrate third-party XML solutions into the IPCC platform makes it extremely flexible and capable of adapting quickly to corporate needs.

IP Messaging
Messaging services, including voice mail, e-mail, and calendaring, are an integral part of the Cisco unified communications environment. With the total architecture approach, IT can take advantage of the interoperability among many of Cisco's enterprise collaboration and mobility solutions.

IP Telephony
IP telephony allows businesses to extend consistent, reliable communications services to all employees wherever they are, while benefiting from using a single, converged network for transport and interconnection. Includes call-processing software, IP phones, and endpoint devices.

Video
Video technologies provide interactive video over an IP network and converge voice, video, and data traffic over a common path. Video builds on top of existing IP data networks, ultimately saving money and scaling to larger deployments than traditional ISDN-based installations.
