Employees average nearly 90 minutes per day of additional productive time using wireless.
In 2000, Cisco deployed an enterprisewide wireless LAN (WLAN) and began providing all employees with wireless access-enabled PCs. In 2005, Cisco surveyed more than 25,000 employees to assess the WLAN’s impact on productivity.
This WLAN benefits case study highlights survey results, including:
- More than 42% of those surveyed used the WLAN as their primary network access medium.
- More than 80% said the WLAN was “critical” or “highly useful” to them.
- Employees averaged 86 minutes of additional productive time.
- Almost 73% wanted to use a dual-mode Wi-Fi/cellular phone or Wi-Fi voice over IP (VoIP) handset.
